Sonata Duo (VOF) is based in Belgium, we are both musicians with a
passion for communication and digital transformation. We are
available for concerts, both solo and quatre-mains in a wide
variaty of music.
We helped a lot of ensembles in there digital transformation, for
making translation and to help build their digital presence and
presentation by recording and editing their content.

Rachel Perfecto is a conductor,
musicologist and carillonneur originally from New York who
began conducting at the age of seventeen. She has studied
oboe with John Ferrillo, Joel Evans, and Hsuan Fong Chen,
choir conducting with Luc Anthonis, and orchestra conducting
with Ivo Venkov. Already at age fifteen, she performed
Haydn’s Oboe Concerto in C Major with the United States
Military Academy Band. With interests in both music and
physics, she majored in music and astrophysics at Yale
University, graduating magna cum laude in 2015. During her
time at Yale, she was assistant conductor and principal
oboist of the Yale Symphony Orchestra, with whom she was
also featured as solo oboist in Bach’s Concerto in C Minor
for Violin and Oboe. In 2014, Rachel founded and conducted
her own orchestra to accompany the Yale Undergraduate Ballet
Company in their performance of Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping
Beauty. She was also assistant conductor of the Saybrook
College Orchestra from 2012 to 2014.
After graduating from Yale, Rachel was awarded a fellowship
from the Belgian American Educational Foundation to study
the carillon at the Royal Carillon School “Jef Denyn” in
Mechelen, Belgium, where she graduated with greatest
distinction in June 2016. As a freelance carillonneur, she
is frequently invited to give concerts and has performed
throughout the US and Europe. To further her musical
studies, Rachel remained in Belgium to earn a master’s in
musicology from KU Leuven and a master of music in
conducting from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. In
Belgium, Rachel regularly conducts the Antwerp Student
Camerata and the Cum Gaudio choir. She also was selected to
participate in a masterclass with renowned
conductor-pedagogue Jorma Panula in Kuopio, Finland, in
2018.

Jakob De Vreese
Jakob De Vreese is a distinguished
carillonneur, known for his mastery and dedication to the
art of carillon. He holds the prestigious positions of
Assistant Carillonneur at the Belfry of Ghent and
Carillonneur of Geraardsbergen, where his performances
breath life into the historic bells, with a wide variaty of
music and improvisations.
Jakob's passion for carillon has taken him across the globe,
from the heart of Belgium to expansive landscapes of France,
Spain, the Netherlands, and the United States. Whether
performing solo or in duo with the talented Rachel Perfecto,
his concerts are a testament to his skill and versatility,
captivating audiences with the unique harmony of bells.
Before fully dedicating himself to the carillon, Jakob was
an accomplished piano and organ teacher until 2017. His
musical journey also includes numerous piano and organ
concerts, showcasing his broad musical talents.
He is active as organizer and founder of the concert series
"Bach Concerts Ghent", and he is an active boardmember of
the Flemish Carillon Association.
As an organist, he served until 2020, as liturgical organist
at the Basilique of Lourdes-Oostakker, a pilgrimage site
near Ghent, and the Parish of "Kanaaldorpen Gent".
Beyond his musical pursuits, Jakob is an avid maker and
DIY-enthousiast. He has worked as Lab Manager of the
MediaLab at Erasmushogeschool in Brussels, where he shared
his expertise in 3D-printing, laser cutting, Python coding,
and AI-projects.
In addition to his educational and musical endeavors, Jakob
is a skilled video editor and audio recording expert
offering his services freelance. His diverse skill set and
creative approach make him a sought-after professional in
both the music and digital creation fields.

Rachel Perfecto is conductor of the Cum Gaudio Choir in
Sint-Martens-Latem and the CBM choir in Tienen.

Concerts
Both Jakob and Rachel are active concert carillonneurs and
are available for solo concerts. Rachel is known for her
inspired arrangements of of romantic music, and next to that
she developed a unique programm in the spirit of her master
thesis about the origine of carillon and pieces based on
carillon ostinatos from the 16th century.
Jakob is known for his vivid improvisation concerts and
varied programms, he also is available for concerts with
piano and carillon in duo with his collegue carillonneur of
Ghent Kenneth Theunissen. They developed programms arround
differnt themes, directed at the general public with easy
listening music like Italian music, french music and even
flemish classics music. A variaty of well known tunes.
Off course Jakob and Rachel are also available for
quatre-mains concerts. Trough the years they developed a
programm with all kinds of music, form piazolla to Bach and
Beethoven, Sousa and the beatles. All arrangements they made
themselfs, so the music is completely talored to there
techniques and harmony. Promissing a inspired and special
experience for the listeners.
